**Letter to the Editor Workshop & Phone Bank for Hands Off Colorado**
Join us for a two-part action session supporting Hands Off Colorado. Come for one part or stay for both — every bit of participation makes a difference!
**Part 1: Letter to the Editor Workshop**
Letters to the editor are one of the most powerful tools we have to shape public opinion and show local decision-makers that our community is paying attention. In this hands-on workshop, we'll help you draft and submit your own letter — no writing experience required.
We'll cover:
- Why letters to the editor matter and how they influence coverage and public opinion
- Key talking points and messaging for Hands Off Colorado
- Tips for writing a clear, compelling, and publishable letter
- Where and how to submit to local papers
- Time to draft your letter with support from volunteer coaches
Bring a laptop or device if you'd like to draft and submit during the session or just bring your ideas and we'll help you get started.
**Part 2: Phone Bank**
Following the workshop, stick around for a phone bank supporting the same campaign. We'll use an online dialer platform that connects you directly to voters and supporters. You'll read from a simple, conversational script covering key talking points and a couple of questions to gauge where the person you're speaking with stands.
A trained lead will walk everyone through:
- Logging into the phone bank platform
- How the dialer works (it does the dialing — you just talk!)
- A walkthrough of the script and how to enter responses
- Tips for handling common questions or pushback
**What you need:**
- A laptop or device with internet access
- Headphones (for phone bank)
- No experience necessary for either activity — just enthusiasm for the cause!
