DESCRIPTION:We are facing an ongoing election crisis. The midterms electio
 ns are already being interfered with and may well be cancelled.\n\nWe need
  to bring all the individual leaders\, government agencies and activist gr
 oups together who are already working or will work to prevent this cancell
 ation. We need to know each other\, have our information in each others’
  phones and have as much planning done as possible.\n\nJobs With Justice\,
  Democracy Unites US and Tucson Shutdown and others are sponsoring a day-l
 ong conference to bring a movement together to face this crisis: Saturday\
 , September 19\, 8:30 a.m.--4:30 p.m. We’ll send the local location to p
 eople as they register. We will serve coffee\, beverages and bagels at 8:3
 0 a.m. and lunch will be served.\n\nWe have a grant to help support this c
 onference from the national coalition: MayDayStrong.org. Over 600 labor an
 d community groups have come together in this coalition to fight this canc
 ellation.\n\nThe coalition has provided a handbook describing 15 different
  ways the election is being stolen already and probably will be in the fut

 se-Scenarios.pdf).\n\nIn the morning\, we will pick the three scenarios mo
 st likely to occur here in Southern Arizona and break into working groups 
 to begin to develop plans for dealing with them. In the afternoon\, we wil
 l role-play these plans\, including nonviolent direct action as needed. Th
 e relationships we build and the skills we develop will help us meet the o
 ther scenarios–and unexpected threats as well.
